It appears, from my view 8 stories up, that the Green Line is operating non-revenue test runs today. If you’re downtown, it’s an interesting site to see an LRV under its own power traversing our north south tracks downtown.
I had a feeling I should have brought my camera. It’s a unique opportunity to see all the yellow busy bees herding around the vehicle at each stop.
With a Type 4? I saw that yesterday near PSU – I was kind of surprised because it was about 6pm and that’s later than they had been out testing when they were running a Type 1/Type 2 consist 3 weeks ago. I was heading toward the streetcar stop on campus when I heard the train’s bell and looked down Mill to get a glimpse of the Type 4 going north, but I didn’t know if that was just burn-in (given the hour) or more testing.
I would almost assume they’re doing testing of the line and getting some burn in done. Pending of course that its legal to do so! π
*grin* Two birds with one stone? I don’t see why it wouldn’t be legal π
hahaa. true. ‘cept the Guv’ment isn’t know for being intelligent about operational things. π
Just saw it go by again. Looks pretty cool. It’s got multiple people in the building excited about it and people talking here and there on the net.
Two of the Type 4s are out today (both currently in the PSU terminus) if you hadn’t seem them go by yet π
Kewl kewl. I’ve got to remember the camera and get some of these bird’s eye shots from up high. They should be cool. But then of course, when they start running revenue service I intend to grab a few shots with the rush hour hustle and bustle! π
